Precision Energy is an electrical and solar business based in Mount Barker, South Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use and look after your personal information. We aim to handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Your name, phone number, email address and postcode

• Your property address, when we quote or install

• Details about your home and energy use, such as whether you own the home, your roof type, your power bills and what you're interested in (solar, battery or both)

• Photos of your switchboard, meter or roof, if you send them to us or we take them during a site visit

• Records of our messages and calls with you

We don't collect payment card details through our website or ad forms.

How we collect it

• When you fill in a form on our website or in one of our Facebook or Instagram ads

• When you call, text or email us, or message us on social media

• During a site visit or installation

Why we use it

• To contact you about your enquiry and prepare a quote

• To design, install and service your system

• To apply for any government rebates or incentives on your behalf

• To register product warranties with manufacturers

• To follow up on your quote or check in after an install

• To meet our legal, safety and record-keeping obligations

Who we share it with

We only share what's needed to do the job:

• Messaging and customer management tools we use to reply to you quickly. We use Podium to send and receive text messages, including messages from our virtual assistant.

• Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which collects your details when you submit a form in one of our ads

• Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, to order your system and register warranties

• Rebate and certificate providers and government agencies, to claim incentives such as small-scale technology certificates and the federal battery rebate

• Your electricity distributor and retailer, to approve your connection and meter changes

• Our accountant and professional advisers, under confidentiality

We never sell your personal information.

Overseas storage

Some of the tools we use, such as Meta and Podium, may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers and only share what's needed.

Marketing

We may text or email you about your quote and, occasionally, about our services. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or telling us directly.

Keeping it safe

We store your information in secure, password-protected systems and only our team can access it. We keep records for as long as we need them for your system's warranty, legal requirements and our business records, then delete them securely.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below.

Complaints

If you're concerned about how we've handled your information, please contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
